Dear John McCain: KEEP OBAMA ON THE ROPES ALL MONTH

Let's face it, he doesn't have anything to lose.  The MSM, liberals, and radical obama all hope he quietly shuts down and makes no waves.  HE CANNOT GO QUIETLY! Also during the debates, he needs to look into the camara and tell the American people, like Palin did, his view of America, moderator be damned, and yet still answer the questions.  And very importantly, he needs to directly refute the obama camp assertion that he's an evil deregulator, by referencing the YouTube videos that prove the opposite, thereby turing the housing market debacle into one that proves his reformer credentials. That is to say, the democrats had a totally lackadaisical attitude toward FM and FM, while McCain was sounding the horn.  But above all, he needs to be "inoffensively on the offense" about obama...

McCain Camp Memo on Obama Camp Attacks

I don't want to be in the same plagiarism camp as Biden (too many occurances to list) and obama (when the stump speech he has repeatedly recited, without reference to the author, WaPo cartoonist Tom Toles and most notably used right before last week's "lipstick on a pig" gaffe,

so I attribute the entirety of the following to an official McCain Campaign release:

"TO:                 Interested Parties
RE:                Empty Words And Insults Cannot Cover A Weak Record

DATE:            September 15, 2008

Over the last few days, the Obama campaign has watched their poll numbers falter and decided to lash out with personal attacks against Senator McCain and Governor Palin.

While their attacks can be explained in part as an over-reaction to declining poll numbers, they are also symptomatic of a candidate with a thin record who is unable to explain problematic votes and statements.  Senator Obama unwittingly provided a preview of this strategy in Denver when he said: “If you don’t have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from.”

Because in many instances the facts are not on his side, Senator Obama has made up for this by hurling insults in the hope that people will not examine the record. In recent days, we have seen this tactic played out repeatedly:

Earmarks: In recent days, Barack Obama has decided to engage Senator McCain and Governor Sarah Palin in a debate over earmarks. However, despite his attempts to call everyone who examines his record a liar, the facts are clear:

While Senator McCain has never requested a single earmark, Senator Obama has requested nearly a billion dollars worth during his short time in office.  Though Senator Biden has been in the Senate for 36 years, he has only disclosed his earmarks for one year.

Senator Obama increased his earmark requests during each of his first three years in office. Governor Palin has cut requests for earmarks for Alaska by $150 million since entering office, and she has cut those requests every single year.  She has also vetoed a half billion dollars in wasteful spending at the state level.

?

Senator Obama has also attacked Governor Palin over the “Bridge to Nowhere,” despite the fact that he actually voted for the bridge, and his own party in Alaska credited her for ending the project.  The fact is the bridge ballooned in cost between the time it was first budgeted and when Palin became governor. Once in the Governor’s office, Palin examined the new facts and concluded that the project had become too expensive and a poor use of tax dollars. This conclusion led to her decision to end the project, as detailed in numerous press accounts at the time.

Sex Education: When confronted with questions about his support for K through 12 sex education, Barack Obama has lashed out at the propriety of any questions on what he voted for.  The text of the bill in question reads:

“Each class or course in comprehensive sex education offered in any of grades K through 12 shall include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread of HIV.”

The fact is that this legislation stated expressly that children in grades kindergarten through 12 were to be taught about sexually transmitted diseases.  If Senator Obama believes that it is not appropriate to teach kindergarteners about sexually transmitted diseases, he should have joined with the minority who voted against the bill.  Instead, he supported it.

While Senator Obama has tried to assert that all he’s ever been concerned about was protecting young children from predators, the facts tell a different story.  For example, in describing his position on sex ed for kindergarteners in 2004, Obama specifically said it included topics other than sex predators or inappropriate touching, saying, “If they ask a teacher ‘where do babies come from,’ that providing information that the fact is that it’s not a stork is probably not an unhealthy thing.”

In 2007, Barack Obama told Planned Parenthood that he supported “age-appropriate” sex education for kindergarteners. When challenged about what was “age-appropriate,” the Obama campaign cited guidelines that included comprehensive and explicit teaching that should concern every parent.

Taxes: The Obama campaign claims that anyone who says that Senator Obama is going to raise taxes is lying. But the fact is that what Senator Obama says and what he has voted for are two different things.

He pledges on the campaign trail that he wouldn’t raise taxes on the middle class, but in the Senate, he voted for higher taxes on people making just $42,000 per year. He has voted for higher taxes or against tax cuts 94 times.  It is not a lie to point out this record of votes.  At the beginning of the campaign, he promised to raise taxes on every American with an investment through his increases on capital gains and dividend taxes.

Over the course of this campaign, he has run away from this record of supporting higher taxes. That is not surprising in an election year, but that is also why the record is important.  Senator Obama has put forth so many versions of his tax plan, voters are naturally going to judge him not just on what he says on the campaign trail, but what he has done during his time in office.

Senator Obama can hurl all the insults he wants, but his record is still a fair point of discussion in this campaign."

Palin "Fascinates" European Media

Apparently many in the world's media are taking note of the phenomenon known as "Sarahcuda".  In a Financial Times online article titled "Palin Fascinates European Media," Palin "...grabbed many European headlines on Thursday with the focus either on her ideology or her gender."  Yes, for better or worse, Sarah Palin is becoming instantly known worldwide as the woman who is not afraid to take on the Washington establishment, a phrase at which Europeans decidedly sneer when thinking of us Americans.  You'd think that the positive message of change heading its way to Washington, put forth by the McCain/Palin ticket and backed up by solid accomplishments and not just lofty rhetoric, would thrill foreigners so used to saying "ugly American."  Note I said "positive" not "negative" change, so eloquently contrasted by Rudy Guiliani last night. You'd think they'd be rooting for the kind of reform and downsizing of a government that, in its present form,  is decried as evil and cynical in its every global move.

The type of change the other hemisphere is encouraging and hoping occurs, however  (literally, in the case of Palistinians who like to donate to the obama campaign or Hamas, who openly endorses him)  is exactly the type that would really make us into their American Cousins:   socialist agendas, Islamofascist-friendly, big government, huge tax increases, stifling economic downturns, and most importantly, abrogation of the ideals of hard work and innovative competetiveness stoked by a robust free market system.  Let's be clear here.  What barack promises (tax cuts for 95%, increased taxes on the wealthy) cannot but increase the cost of business which will burden, you guessed it, the middle/lower classes.  Now that's trickle down economics you can believe in!  Well, their media too seems to be scurrying like a bunch of cockroaches startled by a light switch, judging by the post-Palin response in some of the papars like Le Monde, which is a huge surprise.

Unfortunately, we really can't attribute such panic and the relexive derision and vitriol it evokes, to simple Arab/Eurotrash.  We have a next door neighbor who is all in a tizzy about this recent turn of events brought on by the 'cuda:  French-speaking Canada!:   "...in Canada, French-speaking media were more hostile. 'To paraphrase Martin Luther King, today we could say: “I had a nightmare,” wrote Lysiane Gagnon, of La Presse, a French speaking daily newspaper of Montreal.' Worst is that this nightmare seems realistic, taking into account the age and the health of John McCain.”   Gagnon then went on to spew venom at McCain for “being ready to give the vice presidency to an uncultured woman with archaic convictions, without any serious political experience, only to rally the fundamentalists. This is no longer impetuousness, but madness”.   Apparenly elite liberalism, found in the dank halls and wine clubs of the Capital, extends far north of the border as well.

To be fair and not paint the whole anti-American dimension with a broad brush found in the trash, the article goes on to say "In Britain, more attention was paid to Ms Palin’s success in combining career and family. 'Almost overnight, Sarah Palin replaced Hillary Clinton as the screen on which we project our doubts and hopes about women and success,' wrote Nancy Gibbs, in the Times.”   But let's be honest:  most of the planet sickened by the cowboy policies of Americans, who have the temerity to go out and save Europe's (and the rest of the free world's) a_s (again and again), to take the fight against terrorism where it is spawned, to charitably give billions to other continents facing massive catastrophies (like tsunamies and AIDS), and  whose country serves as a magnet drawing millions to its shores (or across it's rivers) every year, would prefer that we stop being so racist and elect a black man for President.  Oh, did I mention they love his policies too?

Obama: an aneurysm away from VP.

Here's a much more scary revelation than the (fallacious) democratic argument that Sarah Palin is a heartbeat away from the presidency:  Barack Obama is merely a heartbeat (or aneurysm, if you will) away from his seeing eye dog, Joe Biden.  Now if this doesn't scare the hell out of you, I don't know how Sarah Palin's being in the number two spot can possibly register as even a blip on your fear radar.

Palin's inexperience, according to the obama camp, can be attested to by the fact that she managed 50 employees as a mayor (ahem, don't forget the 25,000 as governor), and oversaw a yearly budget around 10 million dollars as mayor (but barack, don't forget the tens of billions managed as governor of the resource rich Alaskan hinterland).  Then he goes on to say he's much more qualified, obviously, than this small-town rube because he has (singlehandedly?) managed his campaign for 18 months.  During management of said campaign he has "handled" more employees and money than Palin did as mayor of Wasilla, AK.  Is he forgetting some important little detail?  Hmmm, lets's see.... Of course, he DID prove he can multitask: he can conduct a world celebrity tour AND manage to keep the title of "senator" for those 18 months.

Meanwhile, defying all logic, the democrats appear to be highlighting many of the contrasts between their party and the McCain/Palin ticket.  I'll tell you what, I'll point out the qualities being touted by the McCain/Palin ticket and you can guess the contrasting viewpoints/qualities of the democratic ticket:

1. Fighting corruption IN YOUR OWN PARTY, and bucking the system to generate results.

2. MULTITASKING a complete overhaul of government and managing an 80-90% approval rating in your state WHILE CARING FOR 5 KIDS, one of whom is special needs and the other who has been thrust forcefully into adulthood.

3. WALKING THE WALK, including wholehearted acceptance of a new life about to be brought into this world by Bristol Palin, rather than treating this as a punishment that needs to be eliminated.

4. SHUNNING THE IDEA THAT EVEN BIGGER GOVERNMENT and more intrusion of it into, for example, the healthcare system is just what we need to decrease operating costs (and thus help with the deficit) and improve quality.  Just look how wonderfully big government has done with Amtrak, and Cook County Hospital.

5. HARBORING THE BELIEF THAT AMERICANS SHALL BE THE MASTERS OF THEIR OWN ENERGY SUPPLIES, and listening to the majority of Americans who believe in a "all of the above approach" in term of energy sources, while alternative fuel technology is made practicable and affordable for the average blue collar Joe in the next couple of decades.

I can go on and on, but I, unlike most of the liberals who hack away at the keyboard all day, have a real job and am trying to advance myself through hard work and sacrifice, not by awaiting the cornucopia that only the federal government can supply.

Open Appeal to John McCain: you must postpone convention!

It's the difficult but right decision. You MUST postpone the convention  as an acceptance and adopt your "red cross-like" volunteer stance.  It's the right thing to do and will prove you value country first.  It will definitely showcase the compassionate side of conservatism, and will highlight your effectiveness for real change...

Palin/biden, A study in contrasts: answering a typical liberal comment in response to Palin pick.

With the awesome news McCain has picked Sarah Palin of Alaska to be his running mate, liberals are inundating the internet from home as they get up in the late morning to go to work.  Hope the news makes them spill a bit of latte in their laps...

"Laura writes: Friday, August, 29, 2008 10:39 AM
STUPID PICK, PALIN. Biden will eat her
for lunch!!"

1. He'll end up looking like the elitist, ham-handed, hair-plugged bloviator he already seems to be.
2. What will he beat her at, her experience?  Please, he will be making the argument against obama.  And, unlike obama/biden, at least she has executive experience.
3.  Will her eat her alive with such notable foreign policy accomplishments as voting against Gulf One, for Gulf II (qualifying him for lack of judment according to "The One"), or for his vote against the surge (qualifying him for lack of judment according to everyone else).  How about the great idea of dividing Iraq up like a pie?  Now that's dumb!
4. Will he bash her for being a Washington insider and colluding with her lobbyist son to get key legislation favorable to a major credit card company passed? (oh, sorry, that WAS biden).
5. Finally, will he beat her for being in the senate for 36 years and never once bucking the system or going against the party line in a courageous way, risking alienation from her party?
Thought not...

Important omissions from DNC day 3

1. Clinton
a. Explanation of exactly who candidate "x" and "y" are: (http://beltwayblips.com/video/bill_clinton_s_not_so_subtle_diss_of_barack_obama/)
b. The rationale behind his treating international terrorists in the 1990's as white collar criminals, which ultimately led up to 9/11.
c. Explanation of Mogadishu, Haiti, and other foreign policy successes.
d. Explanation of how he can go from saying obama being elected is a "fairy tale" and unprepared to supporting him fully:  What exactly in the intervening  time has made obama prepared for POTUS?
e. Explanation of his judgment that says that McCain isn't right for America, but a socialist, who sits in a racist church and hangs out with an unrepentant domestic terrorist, and who's being endorsed by a former president who treated himself to Monica Lewiski's oval orifice in the Oval Office, is (I guess it depends on what the definition of is, is).
f. Explanation of his own dealings with foreign governments, like Dubai and China, that seem to show an overly solicitous demeanor toward the former president.

Biden::
a. Explanation of just what exactly he's accomplished as a Washington insider for 35 years.
b. Explanations of any and all dealings his son/brother have as major Washington lobbyists, and what legislation was subsequently pushed through by Biden. (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2008/08/joe-biden-deals.html)
c. Explanation of such foreign policy successes as voting against the first Gulf War, voting for the second (poor judgment according to obama), but voting against the surge (poor judgment according to most everyone else who admit it's a rousing success);  suggesting that Iraq be sliced and diced like a pie into three pieces when even Iraqis thought that would be stupid.
d. Just how exactly Joe is an average Joe when he wastes no time in telling people his IQ is much higher that others in the room:

It would be nice to drop the sanctimony and actually answer these questions...

Important ommissions from DNC day 2

1. "obama is qualified to be Commander in Chief"
2. "obama has the experience to be Commander in Chief"
3. "obama has the judgment to be Commander in Chief"
4. McCain is running, not Bush.  The "Bush=McCain" defense, which the obama camp is stubbornly trying to coax into gaining widespread traction,  is however in keeping with the liberal worldview that (at least in regard to conservative AMERICANS), there is black and white, us v. them, my view and the wrong view, and is certainly not in the tradition of uniting all Americans.
5. Commentary from the left on Bill Clinton's subltle endorsement of McCain:  I'm assuming who you know candidate x and y are...
“Suppose for example you’re a voter and you have candidate X and you have candidate Y,” Clinton said. “Candidate X agrees with you on everything but you don’t think that person can deliver on anything. Candidate Y disagrees with you on half the issues but you believe that on the other half, the candidate will be able to deliver.”

Important ommissions from DNC day 1

1. Mary Jo Kopechne and the Chappaquidick River Party
2. Reverend Wright and the family-values oriented, Amerocentric baptism of obama’s 2 daughters
3. michele obama’s thesis implying that she could never get a fair shake in America because it’s inherently racist
4. Resko and the Hyde Park mansion acquisition, followed by $14,000,000 steered to Rezko
5. Michelle’s huge payraise at the University of Chicago coincident with a. barack’s acendency to senator, and b. barack’s steering money to U of C
6. Emil Jones’s statement implying if you’re black and not for barack, you’re and uncle tom
7. obama has all the judgment of a kumquat (no, not the Wright thing which the MSM has incredibly dismissed when judging obama
's judgment) but picking biden as his "everyman" when clearly he has a superiority complex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1j0FS0Z6ho.
8. Explanation of what exactly a "community organizer" is and the redeeming romantic qualities of that that drew michelle to barack
***now THAT would be complete life story, and not the fairy tale that michelle/barack put on on the first night to sound “white”!***
